My digital portfolio blog consists of A-level work and a collection of work I have completed whilst being on an Art foundation course.
During my A-level studies of Fine Art, I produced textiles based work and explored the manipulation of fabrics, construction of garments and textiles/surface pattern. I enjoyed both textiles and art, so combining aspects from both of these subjects allowed me to visualise my design ideas three dimensionally and strengthen my skills. My passion for design has developed further during the foundation course as this has allowed me to explore fashion further, run my own projects and broaden my knowledge on designers and their work.
I have included several drawings which were developed in a variety of different media from an 'Urban Environment- Architecture' project, along with monoprints. Also, I have included images from a 'Paper Dress' project which shows paper manipulation and experimentation with different origami shapes to create a wearable garment. I have included design ideas for a headwear project which displays the use of different media; also I have included images from 'The Body' project which shows relevant research, samples and designs, followed by a finished garment. My last post includes two drawings from life drawing sessions I attend in college; I feel that I am constantly progressing and improving my drawing skills by capturing the features of a human body in various different media.
I am hard working and eager to learn; I would love the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills further at degree level. I feel that Manchester School of Art would be an amazing opportunity for me to achieve my full potential as I have always had a passion for designing and creating.
